UNFORGETTABLE......JULY 20XX: PART 1

THE BEGINNING....

    ...Dami is not just an ordinary friend. She's more like a sister. I've known her all my life coupled with the fact that she'd been living with us for a long time now..in fact, people outside call her our elder sister but the truth is her parents who are our relatives died when she was 5 and my own folks decided to take her in. Ever since then she's been living with us and we see her as a role model.

When Dami started dating she introduced us-me and my other siblings-to the guy...She told us a lot of things about him and how she loves him and is ready to wait for him to be stable and all that..

Personally, then i didn't know much about love-(not that i'm a master now o)-lol.. but i was very happy for her and i know she was really into him...With time,i got to know her boyfriend and I spoke to him on phone regularly..that's the normal thing nah, baby of the house speaks to elder sister's boyfriend..i know it happens everywhere..hahah...anyways,i saw him as a big brother or uncle figure and whenever he calls and wants to speak with me,i get usually excited.

Time started ticking real fast. Dami was 26. i was 15....things were still sweet for them. She was determined to wait for him till whenever..Mom was getting anxious over Dami's relationship life..she knew nothing about it and we weren't ready to spill...at least not anytime soon. However, when people started coming for her hand in marriage, Dami decided to tell mum about Bro M.so at least mum would know why she wasn't giving into any other person.. ..she was hell bent on waiting for him. I wasn't helping issues either. Each time they have a misunderstanding,i'd always be on his side..dunno but i felt the fault would always be from Dami.

As time went on, Bro M moved from grass to grace. Things began to work for him. He got a new job..a multinational company employed him and he was given a new house,car as well as other allowances..he was also flown abroad several times for training. Indeed! things were working out well for him.but i bet when all these were happening,if he was excited,it wont be half as much as my sister..She was thrilled..she kept talking about him and at that moment she knew...i knew..finally, she was going to get married to him. We were glad that the wait was not in vain

 I finally met with bro M the day he came to the house to see mum and Dami, daddy wasn't around..I was very happy.He looked exactly the same with what i'd seen in pictures.. Mum liked him immediately and we knew no doubt that he had gotten mum's approval..

........On Dami's 27th birthday, she confided in me that Bro M hasn't brought up any thing on marriage yet..Whenever she says something relating to it,he'd change the topic immediately or shout at her..According to her,he'd always say, he's not ready yet and when he is,he'd let her know..Imagine! I just couldn't believe my ears that very day but that's not all.. She told me she had never visited his family house,that they'd always meet in a fast food or a friend's house. i was like EHH!!! u don't say!

 She had never seen any of his siblings-except in pictures of course-all through the time they started dating, nor had she had been introduced to any important person in his life.. 

That was the height of it...i couldn't  bring myself to understand that a relationship that started from the time she was 21 to this very age had no root..it was just floating,.,i was disappointed in her but most of all in myself for not asking her this all this time she took me in as her best friend...i was indeed speechless,there was nothing i could say other than..."Dami, why don't you confront him,you know maybe he has a perfect explanation to this...i mean there has to be one....". Before i could even finish she just started crying like a baby and that when i knew the situation had gotten out of hand...
