WHAT MY LECTURER SAID TO ME....

This article is about my lecturer, who never ceases to say things to me...

We had another meeting again in one of the classrooms in our departments...At first, when our course rep told us about it, we frowned! We began asking ourselves why he'd always call meeting at odd hours.. We knew the previous semester's result couldn't have come out by then so truly he may not have any meaningful thing to say to us..Maybe he wanted to talk about one of the numerous feats he has achieved....

Well, after all of the whining, we still left our various seats and strolled to the department to listen to him....

That meeting turned out to be life changing for me!

That day, he didn't speak  to me directly.....up till now we haven't had any personal encounetr...only during result checking when you have  to enter into his office..

But that very day...... that very day... All the words he spoke, i felt they were aimed directly at me!!!

He began by telling us-those with a not so good result that we are part of the reason why our result is that
way..

He told us he achieved academic excellence not because he was entirely good but because he was hardworking..

He is where he is today-with 1st class certificates in a federal polytechnic and a university, masters and even the Phd he is running, not because he is the best but because he utilized his time well, he was hardworking, he persevered..plus the God factor..

My lecturer told me that very day, that i can be whoever i want to be... He said the ball is in my court..that it only depends on me..

He also said it didn't matter how bad one started with his/her grades but it could change any minute if we want it to(i know many will say this is just a consolation to all bad beginners, but the truth is, it really worked for me..)Hearing him say it, gave me all the hope and faith i wanted.... gave me the strength to not look down at myself but stand up and pursue my goal..

He said we should manage our time well... He held so many posts while in school, and currently still doing much. and yet even his after degree programs, he is still doing wonderfully well..

I began to ask myself.. what am i doing that should take my time and not allow me to reach my potential?

That day was indeed life changing...

I've heard people talk about things like this but that
day was indeed different for me...

The meeting eventually ended, I got home and all I could think of were his words....they didn't want to leave me!!

They motivated me!! I began to set my goals..I told myself that I was going to pursue the new semester that was on its way with his words... I knew there was no turning back now!!

Now, this is what you must know..

• Not every time one gets to see a man who who'd give motivation talks for free-LOL (a "been there and done that" kinda person)
• Not every time you'd get to meet that lecturer that would call his student's grades in front of the whole class and at the end..the class gets to clap for the best, the ones and improving and everyone generally.. He'd even go as far as calling the least grade and the person who has it... Just to motivate everyone.. so next time they'd work harder..
• Not every time, you'd get to come across a human who's so dedicated to his faith and serving God even though he's not a preacher.

Now, this lecturer of mine would write the whole world on social media platforms..not minding who sees or criticizes when even people like me criticize most times and yet when you sit to ponder on what he has written you'd realize he's in a totally different league...

He just doesn't care!!

Even though I know he might never see this, I'm satisfied with the fact that every other person can see
it.. And they can also take what my LECTURER SAID TO ME to heart and apply it and their various works of life.. and see the results...

Engr. I.C.N....My Lecturer that said something to me....I really want to be a little bit like you.. not fully oo..lol.. even with your many imperfections..
