UNFORGETTABLE.....JULY 20XX :PART2
THE MIDDLE
...I tried to use a handkerchief to dry her tears..my heart broke at the mere sight of her tears. I couldn't believe this was happening. Dami of all people in this sorry state. By now, my anger level was rising. I just didn't know what to do. i didn't like the turn of events at all and i hated the fact that Bro M was responsible for making my beloved cry.
Suddenly, she looked straight into my eyes and pleaded..
"Somma, mummy must not know about what I've just told you ok. she'll kill me if she finds out because she warned me."
I nodded. what else could I have done.
"I'm going to tell him things either go the way I want it, or we break up-whichever way he chooses,i'm prepared to take it.".
I still nodded, this time around, a silent OK joined it. I was going to stand by any decision she takes..
Some days later, Dami came home with some goodies for me and my siblings. She had gotten them from the mall. She later disclosed that Bro M took her out. Hmmm... OK so they had made up. Such love! What can i say?
Later on, while arranging the items she brought back, in her room, I asked her if she told him what was on her mind. she shrugged and replied,
"Somi oo, i just decided to let it go joor, there's nothing i can do.Men will always be men. He apologised and said things will be better. And it's true whenever he's ready to do the right thing,i'll always be here" she stopped and stared into space. I could tell her mind was somewhere else..."Besides, God's time is always the best".
I just laughed in my mind when I heard this. I knew it's the normal thing anybody will say to give themselves hope. I knew better sha..to just keep my mouth shut and nod as usual.
Few hours later, Bro M called Dami. He told her to choose a day and bring me so we'll have fun while he's still in town,She accepted.. When she told me, I was super excited! But then, Dami said she wanted me to go alone..while she gives an excuse why she can't come as well.
"Somi see if you go alone,you'll be able to get information about my situation from him. Ask questions indirectly ok. Since it's you, he won't even know when he'll answer them. Besides smallie,
he's fond of you o.. Always asking after you". she said,, trying to convince me,because for me, i honestly didn't like the idea.
After much consideration, I accepted.. with missed feelings though. Haven't spent even a minute alone with him..Didn't know if i could even say the right thing when with him. i didn't want to spoil things for my sister...or act like we are too desperate to have him marry her.....
but I decided I was going to keep an open mind and do my best...
