Programme Officer (Quantitative Research)
Job Objective
TEP Centre is Nigeria’s pioneer education partnership organisation, specialising in research, design, implementation, support and evaluation of education programmes, projects and initiatives across the public, private and non-profit sectors. We seek to fill the role of a Programme Officer (Quantitative Research).
The ideal candidate will have strong research, analytical skills, communication skills and a proven ability to plan and manage organisational systems. The successful candidate will work as a key part of the core implementation team to coordinate the design and delivery of various programmes within the organisation.

Job Title: Programme Officer (Quantitative Research)
Reports to: Research Manager
Key Roles and Responsibilities
The PO will support and be partly responsible for:
- Assisting with all aspects of research design including proposal development, documentation of project requirements, research plan development and budgeting
- Assisting in developing accurate and efficient tests to be used in surveys that are to be carried out.
- Working with teams to ensure the use of ideal tools for project operations, whilst ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data used or gathered
- Reviewing and drafting test development tools with developers
- Organizing workshops wherein tools to be used in the development of tests are drafted
- Transforming raw scores into practical numbers and figures
- Running preliminary and inferential tests to understand data observations.
- Contributing to research dissemination outputs and activities
- Supporting data preparation process such as: data cleaning, creation of identifiers and compilation of data code book
- Supporting field processes for survey administration and process re-checks in states.
- Representing the organization when and where necessary.
Technical and Behavioural competencies
- Organised and able to participate in and lead physical and virtual teams.
- Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with respect for diversity.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, and able to build value adding relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the public, private and civil society sectors.
- Excellent analytical skills with advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.Experience/ Qualification
- Degree in education or development related field from a recognised university (possession of a Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience in the development sector - research, education, policy advocacy.
- Experience working in international development organisations and/or donor/grant funded programmes will serve as an added advantage
- Multilingual speaker desirable.
- Based in Lagos and willing to travel nationally and internationally
