MY LOVE FOR 'SAMOSA'

HI EVERYONE!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend? For me, I'd say mine went well... at least there's life!

Well, today, I'm super excited to share this with you... The love i have for SAMOSA...
For all of you wondering who or what SAMOSA is, I'll tell you....

SAMOSA is a 'what'!! not a 'who'...LOL...sorry to disappoint you..those naughty minds that think I'm here to talk about my boyfriend...

Anyways, i stumbled upon it while surfing the net(one of the things i often do)  in a food blog and the part of me that's so very much interested in trying out new things went ahead to try it...and ..it was AMAZESOME!!!(amazing+awesome..).

yeah!

That's it!! gorgeous SAMOSA...
Looks a little bit like our normal meat pie, sold in fast food restaurants and likes but it's not.. it's not also baked, it's fried! so that's something for those of us that don't have an oven.. it's among the category of food called small chops!! you can make it any time at all..and serve during parties, to your visitors and whenever you like...

It's also very easy to prepare...

I'll list the necessary things you'll need

FOR TH DOUGH:

  • 60g (2 oz) plain flour (all purpose flour)
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • A pinch of salt(sugar too if you like...me, i like..)
  • Warm water
  • Vegetable oil for deep-frying

  • FOR THE FILLING:

  • 2 medium Irish potatoes
  • 2 handfuls of green peas(again,if you like. For me, after the first time, i stopped using it 'cos i didn't fancy it.)
  • 100g minced beef(i chopped the meat into very tiny pieces after steaming)
  • 2 cooking spoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 big stock cube
  • 1 stalk of spring onion (cut into thin circles)
  • 1 teaspoon of curry powder (for colour, no chilli)
  • Salt and ground cayenne pepper (to taste)

  • That's about all the things you'll need....For the STEPS, which is quite easy and then every other thing, including a video showing its preparation, click here: http://www.allnigerianrecipes.com/small-chops/indian-samosa.html and see where i learnt this wonder snacks from, then you try out other delicacies featured there as well..

     PLEASE KNOW THIS:
Cooking is all about experimenting....don't feel shy trying out new things or cooking from a cook book or from directions someone has scribbled down for you.. There's nothing wrong with that....the fact is, you are learning and you are doing it!!!

Alright..I await your comments...especially after you've tried this one or any other you find in the blog...

    thanks..
